Leutenberg- Herschdorf. Despite snow and ground frost, ten members of Save Nature met to voluntarily plant 205 trees (apples, pears, plums and sweet and sour cherries). This is what Johannes Leeder from Save Nature Group has said:
27 different varieties were considered, such as the “apple of Croncels” or the pear variety “good gray”. “From day to night we worked. We even worked one day with headlamps and floodlights to work in the dark,” said Leeder. The weekend before holes had been dug and a fence against Wildverbiss had been built. The dedicated group of landscape designer Andreas Reichenbächer, who provided the excavator, and landscape designer Holger Büttner, who supplied the trees with his trailer, received help. Both sponsors come from the region. The nature conservation organization “Save Nature Group” supports regional projects. In addition to their planting campaigns, they maintain and care for existing habitats and hang nest boxes and bird boxes.
